YSE have decided to start doing a monthly progress report to help compile the month’s accomplishment.

The Younis Server Enterprise releases the new website running on platforms WordPress for the major part of the site and Olate download for the download page. The website has been upgraded to WordPress 2.0.1 as of today.
We have been working on offering services for people running websites, blogs or alike. One thing that we have been focusing on is enabling access to people using online services such as ‘Blogger’. The first service that has been released is the Hijri Date project which gives people the opportunity to easily include the Hijri Date on their websites. We have also added a link database to the Projects page so that users can test demonstrations of a variety of scripts, mainly PHP/AJAX.
Usayd Networks are now using YSE for their downloads which will enable us to keep track of how many downloads are taking place as well as making use of the new download section of YSE. There is quite a major factor for YSE which has seen an increase in visitors this year, but more importantly, a huge increase in bandwidth usage:
Amazingly January 06 for YSE witnessed a total Bandwidth for Month of 36 453.14 MB (36.5GB) which is more then the whole year for 2005. As far as we are concerned, that is a good sign!
Next Month
February will be quite a busy time for YSE, we are hoping on developing further scripts for the projects page as well as improving the existing ones. We are also working on improving the colour scheme for the website, a date has been scheduled for this.
New Website!
After intensive work and preparation, the new YSE website is finally released! Why today, well we wanted to finish the website (or most of it) before the new year as there are too many projects waiting that should already be started. Another thing we wanted to make sure was that we had some time before the holiday is over to “beta-test” the website. Yeah that word is so overused, but anyway just to make sure everything is working okay. On that note, please leave a comment or contact us if you do find anything that looks wrong, in fact we are looking for any constructive criticism so please feel free to contact us regarding the design, layout etc.
A little more information about the new website. Well, its powered by WordPress 2.0 (be kind, 2.0 was just released), we’ve been using this platform for quite a while now and we do like it. It runs smoothly, has unlimited possibilities with the available plugins and hacks which really make it such a versatile system. The projects page has a much larger vault of information regarding WordPress and the other platforms we are working on, please check it out. You might like the AJAX live search, live commenting and live contact form, they are just an example of add-ons for WordPress that are freely available and easy to use.
Another addition to the website is the download site, which will be integrated into this theme hopefully before the end of the holiday, if time permits. The download site will be hosting some of the projects by the network and we will also be hosting requested files etc, obviously nothing illegal or anything. Feel free to check it out, there is more detail about hosting files on the about page which is still under development (hence the empty sidebar).
